		<description>Re your discussion on NTS funding, the recently announced reprieves for various NTS properties and the smaller number of redundancies are very welcome, but it does not address the basic issue with NTS  - that they have no real business plan or vision. Reprieves are by definition short-term.

With the greatest of respect to individual lobbying skills, the fundamental issue of the long-term management of NTS still need to be addressed. Responding to local pressure is no substitute for a well-considered strategy on funding, marketing and conservation. The present Board &#38; Council appear not to exhibit the necessary skills.

We hope these short term fixes will not deflect support from our purpose – an open discussion of the financial facts leading to a complete review of NTS objectives and the means necessary to achieve them.
