St Monans Playgroup visits Ardross Farm

As part of their current Harvest theme nine children from St Monans Playgroup were treated to an exciting tour of Ardross Farm on Tuesday (08/09/09).

The staff at Ardross Farm went to considerable effort to welcome the Playgroup and show us around their vegetable gardens, pumpkin patch and grain sheds. The children were encouraged to find apples on trees, smell herbs, feel and examine the various crops and they were very happy with the muddy conditions!

After our tour ended, each child was given a paper bag full of fruit and a fruity iced lolly each. Some of the mums took the opportunity to buy some of the fabulous produce too.

This was a wonderful opportunity for the children of St Monans playgroup and the play leaders Yvonne Ramsay and Nicola Scott would like to extend a huge thank you to the staff at the farm.

St Monans Playgroup is a safe, friendly environment for pre-school children from all over the East Neuk to play and develop. There are still places at St Monans playgroup for children aged between two and a half, and 5 years, with council funding available for children over 3. We are open Monday – Friday, 9.15 - 11.45am during term times.
