Artists
(we’ll be updating and adding to these)
Helen Marshall, 20 Braehead: “ St Monans is a great community with so many creative people. Living here , it’s easy to meet other artists to paint with and learn from. The Community Arts Festival is a great opportunity to show some of my paintings. Working mostly with acrylic I love painting coastal scenes, flowers and abstracts.”Felicity Chancellor: Felicity Chancellor enjoys the East Neuk in all its facets and moods and paints accordingly.Avril Neagle, 26 BraeheadE. Sara Honeyman, 26 BraeheadArthur Nuttall, 31 West End (garage): Hi I’m Arthur Nuttall and have lived in the East Nuek all my life the highlight of my hobby was my painting of the fishing drifter Reaper coming home being presented to Princess Anne.Renate Heath, 31 West End (garage): Inspired by the East Neuk and seaside gardens Renate makes colourful oils, acrylics and watercolours, block prints and cards.
Brett Watson, 18 West Shore: My latest work engages with the properties of light and darkness, the present and the past, memory and loss. I am always looking to reflect upon not just what might be before me but that inner world which might lead us to somewhere ‘other’.Ann Watson, 7 Midshore: Ann paints expressive landscapes and vibrant florals Influenced by her surroundings. She paints in an energetic manner using sizzling colour and textureJoanna van den Berg, The Windmill: I’m delighted to be part of the St Monans Arts Festival this year. My work generally uses landscape, weather, light and wildlife as metaphor for life, loss and reconciliation. Originally a sculptor, I now produce images by layering watercolour, charcoal, chalk, ink and collage.
Carole Shaw, Loft House, 12 George Terrace: Carole and Jackie create wall hangings and jewellery from drift wood, sea glass and pottery collected from local beaches. Wire wrapping and many other crafty techniques are used. ‘We have also been experimenting with metal clay in our new kiln’. The fisherman’s loft is a small cosy space to ‘get crafty’. Carole and Jackie would love you to pop in during the Art festival to see what they have been making.Joan Creevy 15 Station Road: I paint mostly landscapes and seascapes of the East Neuk in various media. The seasonal changes also inspire me.Jean Frame
