MONANS AND ABERCROMBIE COMMUNITY COUNCIL"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Minute of the extraordinary general meeting,<br>followed by the ordinary general meeting,<br>held in the Church Hall, Station Road on<br>Monday 20 th January 2025 at 7.30 pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Present: Marjory Ashworth (Chair), Morven Syme (Vice Chair), Eileen Montador (Secretary), David Robertson<br>(Treasurer), Niamh Syme (Social Media), Mervyn Blank, Cllr Fiona Corps, Cllr Alycia Hayes, Diane<br>Martin (Minute Secretary)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apologies: Cllr Sean Dillon<br>Members of the public: 9<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Welcome and apologies.<br>Marjory Ashworth welcomed everyone to this extraordinary general meeting, which is being held to<br>approve the 2023-2024 accounts.<br>In addition, she advised that Peter Peddie requires to be voted onto the Community Council to assist with<br>progressing the banking issues regarding signatories. This was proposed by Marjory Ashworth and<br>seconded by Eileen Montador.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Presentation of Accounts \u2013 David Robertson<br>Income and expenditure were read out for each of the accounts (see attached APPENDICES I-III). Email<br>copies are available on request. The Accounts were proposed by Morven Syme and seconded by Eileen<br>Montador.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Welcome and apologies<br>Marjory Ashworth welcomed all to the January ordinary meeting of the CC and wished everyone a happy<br>new year. Apologies were received and recorded.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Declarations of interest<br>There were no declarations of interest.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reports from Community Groups<br>Heritage Collection \u2013 Mary Henderson<br>\uf0b7 Approached by museum in Anstruther. They have a gap in Feb\/Mar \u2013 opportunity for Heritage to<br>publicise Jerzy Morkis\u2019 book and also the camera collection. 4\/2\/25 \u2013 Mary and Eileen going to set<br>up. 11 th or 25 th March \u2013 reminiscence caf\u00e9 so that people form St Monans can go along to see things<br>and talk about the history of village.<br>\uf0b7 Hoping to open up the Heritage at the beginning of April.<br>\uf0b7 Memorial Garden plans \u2013 Billy talking about an event in the Town hall to discuss the history of the<br>disaster. Meeting tomorrow at 3pm at the Architects office to discuss.<br>Sea Queen \u2013 Vicky Robertson<br>\uf0b7 Food festival will be held on 5 th April with live music.<br>\uf0b7 12.7.25 \u2013 aiming to have Sea Queen Day \u2013 possibility that we will have the Reaper.<br>\uf0b7 Meeting crew members on Saturday to discuss this and see round the boat.<br>\uf0b7 Not in the Town Hall but intend having the stage outside the town hall with events on the Mair etc.<br>\uf0b7 Very early stages but being planned. May need to be later due to tide times.<br>\uf0b7 Cannot get the pipe band for this date. However, a couple of pipers will suffice.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>2<br>\uf0b7 Would like the Auld Kirk for the Sunday \u2013 need to take this to the Church of Scotland<br>SMAKE \u2013 Marjory Ashworth<br>Application is in to the Scottish Land Fund \u2013 applying for stage 2 of the funding \u2013 hopefully finalised in<br>March.<br>Other grant applications in place to try and keep the project moving forward. Struggling to get a bank<br>account opened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"6\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Last minutes and matters arising<br>\uf0b7 Sean Dillon not here to update on blockage at Dossie<br>\uf0b7 Bollard at top shop remaining.<br>\uf0b7 This Place Matters \u2013 report in progress<br>\uf0b7 Braehead parking issues still ongoing<br>The November minute was proposed by Morven Syme and seconded by Eileen Montador.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Police Matters and Report<br>Report as at the end of November 2024<br>Abercrombie &#8211; no calls and no crimes recorded.<br>St Monans &#8211; 34 calls and 5 crimes recorded.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chairperson\u2019s Report \u2013 Marjory Ashworth<br>\uf0b7 Invite to the Burns Supper on Saturday 8 th February in the Town Hall. Tickets priced \u00a327 per person<br>are available to buy from Marjory Ashworth<br>\uf0b7 Need new members on the CC as we have space for 10 but only 7 on the committee. Please pass on<br>the word that there are 3 places available.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Treasurer\u2019s Report \u2013 David Robertson<br>\uf0b7 Paid the church for hire of hall for 2025 meetings.<br>\uf0b7 Money paid to us in error passed on to the food larder.<br>\uf0b7 Heritage accounts &#8211; \u00a32590 \u2013 donations, psychic night etc. \u00a3330 for water! Bills received for gas and<br>electric \u2013 being queried as we don\u2019t have gas.<br>\uf0b7 Floral fund &#8211; \u00a33209.25 as of yesterday. Raised 1350.00 (all put into correct account.) Grant applied<br>for.<br>\uf0b7 It is okay to now order the hanging baskets as funds are available.<br>\uf0b7 Settlement trust \u2013 applied for \u00a31000 for the Autumn club.<br>\uf0b7 Still not received the \u00a3600 Community Council grant from last year so still need to apply for this year<br>too \u2013 all due to bank signatory issues.<br>\uf0b7 Attempts being made to add Marjory Ashworth as a bank signatory with the assistance of Peter<br>Peddie, who was a previous authorised signatory. We are considering a digital poll. Also<br>approaching the local groups who might not wish to use digital platforms to provide their views. Will issue<br>to the school for the pupils.<br>Still to be finalised. Any feedback?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>4<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"14\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Public Questions<br>\uf0b7 Mess at the back of the top shop. Rubbish and broken gate. This is owned by the shop. Cllr Hayes<br>to contact \u2018safer communities\u2019.<br>\uf0b7 Vacant house in Gourlay Crescent with people there sporadically. Not put out the bins. Housing<br>issue \u2013 Cllr Corps to report \u2013 2 &amp; 4 Gourlay Crescent. Door off shed and roof off too. Affecting light<br>to other areas.<br>\uf0b7 Mine at the bottom of the harbour \u2013 who maintains it as it needs painted? Fishermen\u2019s\u2019 Mission?<br>Need a volunteer to paint it \u2013 look for someone to paint in in the spring &#8211; red\/white.<br>\uf0b7 When is the path getting repaired from new houses to Queen Margaret St \u2013 delayed to summer<br>\uf0b7 When are we getting the mechanical sweeper round St Monans? Was out recently. Cllr Hayes to<br>request.<br>\uf0b7 Abercrombie heavier vehicles eroding banking \u2013 Cllr corps will investigate.<br>\uf0b7 George Terrace also an issue re lack of sweepers<br>\uf0b7 Johnstons close also a mess at the steps \u2013 full of old furniture and bits of old cars -cage is gone.<br>Niamh to take photos and send to Cllr Hayes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>AOCB<br>\uf0b7 Settlement trust \u2013 have extra money. If anyone would like David Robertson to apply for it for<br>anything useful then please let him know. \u00a390 for the first responders to repair equipment.<br>\uf0b7 \u00a31395 remaining<br>\uf0b7 Suggest for memorial garden \u2013 David Robertson will submit for consideration for the metalwork for<br>the seat. Morven to find out costs.<br>\uf0b7 MA will find out when the new pads are due for the defibrillators in case more money needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Close\/date and time of next meeting<br>The next meeting will be held on Monday 17 th February 2025 at 7.00\/7.15 pm.
