Minutes of ordinary meeting of St Monans and Abercrombie

1 Welcome and Apologies<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nopened the meeting.<\/p>\n

2.Last Minutes and Matters Arising<\/strong><\/p>\n

2.1 (2.1)
\nT.Hughes and G.Bell had spoken with John Oakes about possible harbour
\nregeneration. Mr Oakes is currently finding out about \u00a0funding possibilities.<\/p>\n

2.2(2.2)
\nR.Craib and V.Salvage will be meeting on Saturday 25th<\/sup> June with
\nSean Kenyon and Cllr Ross Vettraino to discuss street cleaning issues and
\nprogress of refurbishment of public toilets.<\/p>\n

2.3 ( 2.4)
\nR.Craib has been in regular communication with Liz Murphy of Bereavement
\nServices about various issues in the cemetery. She is going to organise the
\nremoval of the shed and Property Services have been to measure up for a fence
\nto surround the soil dump. She is also going to investigate possible repairs to
\nsinking graves. This work is normally carried out in the winter to avoid new
\nturfs drying out, but particularly bad areas could be repaired sooner. R.Craib
\nexpressed her appreciation for the helpfulness from Liz Murphy in her responses
\nto issues brought to her attention.<\/p>\n

2.4(2.6) Repair
\nwork has been carried out to the surface in Queen Margaret Garages ( south end)<\/p>\n

2.5 From older
\nminutes, Heritage Collection items which had been stored in WRVS premises in
\nStation Road, have now been transferred temporarily to the Preservation Society
\npremises. They will be sorted through before longer- term\u00a0 accommodation is found.<\/p>\n

2.6 (7.2)
\nM.Ashworth reported that she believes discussions have been ongoing re road
\nproblems in the Abercrombie area between police and FC.<\/p>\n

2.7 (8.4)
\nProgress seems to be now being made over correcting snags in pavilion and an annual
\nrent of \u00a3200 for premises has been agreed.<\/p>\n

2.8(2.5)
\nE.Hughes reported that the drainage work at end of Rose Street is continuing
\nbut very slowly. Cllr Macgregor to enquire about progress.<\/p>\n

The Community
\nCouncil agreed to give a donation of \u00a3300 to this year\u2019s Community Arts
\nFestival.<\/p>\n

4.Chairperson\u2019s Report<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.Anderson commented on the success of this
\nyear\u2019s Sea Queen Day, despite the inclement weather and thanked all those
\ninvolved for their hard work before and during the event.<\/p>\n

\nReport<\/span><\/p>\n

2 breaches of
\nthe peace. Both detected.<\/p>\n

\nnow been installed at start of village. Camera van will visit in June.<\/p>\n

5.Secretary\u2019s Report<\/strong><\/p>\n

Information was
\nreceived about the Community Space Fund from the Big Lotto. It would appear
\nthat we are not eligible to apply in St Monans but Cllr Macgregor to ask for
\nfurther clarification.<\/p>\n

6.Treasurer\u2019s Report<\/strong><\/p>\n

Accounts
\nissued. The CC is financially in good order at present.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Planning<\/strong><\/p>\n

The application
\nfor building houses behind the Industrial Estate has been refused.<\/p>\n

An application
\nto erect a carport at 5A Braehead has been made. No plans available on line as
\nyet. Once plans can be viewed CC will discuss further.<\/p>\n

G.Brown asked
\nCllr Macgregor to enquire if the planning website could be updated more
\nquickly.<\/p>\n

8.AOCB<\/strong><\/p>\n

8.1 Questions
\non progress to remove rubble from harbour slip were asked. Cllr Macgregor to
\nask<\/p>\n

M. Gibson and
\nJ.Macrae about progress on removal.<\/p>\n

8.2 Concerns
\nwere raised about the condition of the wall between Station Road and Braehead
\nwhere cracks\u00a0 have reappeared and
\nstonework is falling out. R.Craib to contact G.Mietzis re health and safety
\nconcerns.<\/p>\n

8.3 A.Anderson
\ninformed CC that CAREL loan has been approved for the purchase of the anemometer
\nto test wind power on possible wind turbine site. The application will now be
\nforwarded to the Scottish Government.<\/p>\n

8.4 W.Brown
\nwrote to CC to ask if the CC would decide on whether we would run another
\nplanted container competition as well as ,perhaps, a best visible garden
\ncompetition. CC agreed that this was a good idea. All gardens\/containers would
\nbe automatically entered.<\/p>\n

It was also
\nsuggested that there could be a best back\/hidden garden competition which would
\nrequire an application form to be completed. This was also agreed on. V.Salvage
\nto contact W.Brown on publicity.<\/p>\n

Progress was
\ngiven on boat and tub planting in village. Help is still needed for maintenance
\nof certain areas and street tidying in the week running up to judging in July.
\nSome names were passed to Win but further offers of\u00a0 help would be appreciated.<\/p>\n
