The main reason given for this was on health and safety grounds with special emphasis on child pedestrian safety.<strong><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">The majority wished access roads to be from main road.<strong><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">There was also suggestion of access through Industrial Estate to Station Road.<strong><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">There was a suggestion of possible exit via new development for fire engine as an emergency exit.<strong><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">There were general views that pedestrian and cycle links to new development would be very positive.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">HOUSING<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Concerns were expressed about infrastructure ie gas,water,sewage and electric supplies<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">It was questioned if St Monans needed more housing, considering that there are already empty houses in the village at present.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">There was concern at the loss of green space and the increase in car and lorry traffic<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">More social housing is not wanted as it leads to trouble, as has happened in the past when problem families were housed in St Monans.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Extra housing would be good for the primary school and local businesses. Larger 3-4 bedroom properties would be particularly welcome to allow larger families to remain in the village.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">ALLOTMENTS<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Some saw it is as a community asset.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">The proposed site would be easily accessible for villagers to walk to.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">The idea of a community orchard was identified as positive.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Many people suggested alternative sites: <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The offered alternative site at Newark\/ Bowhill farm<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Back of the Industrial Estate<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Part of the \u201cMair\u201d common ( beside primary school)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The old putting green at the east of the village.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The west end part of the proposed new development beside the burn<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Beside Newark Castle.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Could a garden share scheme not be considered<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Concern was raised by many about visual impact especially with the possible detrimental effect on tourism.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Concern on possible vandalism and attracting children trying to enter when so close to playpark.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">The Allotment Association should be showing what they can do with all village gardens in need of attention in village.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Concern of potato blight affecting potatoes and tomatoes on nearby agricultural land.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Concern that allotment area will take up so much green space in development and the loss of the playpark.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family:
