{"id":2046,"date":"2013-03-21T22:31:10","date_gmt":"2013-03-21T21:31:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stmonans.org.uk\/blog\/?p=2046"},"modified":"2024-07-07T22:04:43","modified_gmt":"2024-07-07T21:04:43","slug":"response-from-fife-council-re-possible-allotment-sites-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stmonans.org.uk\/blog\/response-from-fife-council-re-possible-allotment-sites-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Response from Fife Council re Possible Allotment sites"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following the recent public consultation on the Draft St\u00a0Monans Development Framework, Fife Council is considering whether there is a viable alternative site for the allotments.\u00a0 Ten alternative sites were\u00a0put forward\u00a0in feedback received through the consultation, and there may be further suggestions that should also be considered.\u00a0 We would welcome the Community Council&#8217;s contribution on this matter, as being representative of the wider community.\u00a0 I am sending a similar email to the Allotment Association, to ascertain their views. \u00a0I attach an assessment\u00a0sheet to be completed and returned to me by 22 April indicating which sites you believe should be considered further.\u00a0 Please provide clarity on exact locations and boundaries to enable further assessment work to be undertaken.\u00a0 The final decision\u00a0will be made by Leisure &amp; Cultural Services [allotment officer] and Enterprise Planning and Protective Services [Development Plan team], to ensure any site meets criteria for developing allotments and is consistent with development plan policy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A report of consultation has been drafted which is due to be put on\u00a0Fifedirect in the next few days as a public document.\u00a0 It provides an overview of the recent public consultation\u00a0&#8211; summarising the feedback received and Fife Council&#8217;s response to it. In addition to further consideration of the allotments, we will be doing further work to resolve concerns on access issues.\u00a0 At this stage the 3 westerly tails\u00a0off\u00a0Newark Street are acknowledged as too difficult for vehicular through links but some may have cycle\/ pedestrian links. Queen Margaret\u00a0Street, and a link in conjunction with the Fire Station around Castle\u00a0Street\/ the easterly tail off Newark Street are being looked at\u00a0for possible vehicle connections.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222; font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>There are 2 scenarios for taking forward the finalised Development Framework.
