font-family: Calibri;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"32\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">2<\/span><\/span><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"445\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">St Monans Heritage Museum Report &#8211; Ian Reekie<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">I Reekie reported that there were fewer visitors last year at the Heritage Collection, and commented that this was possibly due to the warm summer weather causing people to prefer to stay outdoors.\u00a0 The Visitor Book with comments from visitors was given to the Secretary who allowed member of the public at the meeting to view it.\u00a0 I Reekie said that it could be seen from the comments that those visitors who did come in enjoyed their visit and were very positive about the Collection.\u00a0 He went on to say that the high praise was due to our faithful band of volunteers who welcome visitors in the morning and afternoon.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">In response to the Chairman\u2019s question, I Reekie said that they did struggle at times to fill the rota.\u00a0 It was suggested that there are a number of people in the village &#8211; especially those who were born and brought up here &#8211; who would be excellent.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">A member of the public suggested that they might be more willing to volunteer if they could come with another person.\u00a0 I Reekie replied that because there was 2 rooms that if volunteers preferred to volunteer in pairs that that would work well, and commented that volunteers meet people from all over the world.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">E Scott concluded that basically the Heritage Collection just needs more helpers.<\/span><\/span><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"121\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"32\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">3<\/span><\/span><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"445\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Chairperson\u2019s Report<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">The last 12 months have been another busy period for the Community Council and brought many achievements.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">The Community Council have worked even harder, using a variety of mediums to engage with the local residents of St Monans and Abercrombie to ensure we do our best to represent their views and requirements.\u00a0 We have liaised with Fife Council on a number of issues including local services and planning to attempt to ensure the best outcome for the local area.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Mrs Brown\u2019s boys (and girls) have done a power of work to ensure St Monans remains beautiful; and thanks to our continued sponsored bench programme residents and visitors have somewhere to stop and admire the view.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">The Community Council continue to fight on-going issues such as dog fouling and unsafe parking, and fought to maintain local amenities, including the local public toilets, in the face of ever-increasing council cuts and diminishing budgets.\u00a0 We are the only village in the East Neuk that will soon have three community defibrillators accessible 24 hours a day to the public to promote health and wellbeing.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">The Chairman went on to say that all this and our usual community events do not happen automatically, and that he would like to formally thank his fellow Community Councillors for their continued support and hard work over the last 12 months.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">He also went on to formally thank Tom and Ena Hughes for making their facilities available for not only the Community Council monthly meetings, but also for a range of other community related activities covering very many different local clubs and organisations.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">The Chairman also thanked the local Councillors for their continued support and for their assistance in getting many local matters resolved when the Community Council have struggled to get a sensible, or any form of, response from Council officers.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Finally the Chairman thanked the stalwarts of the public benches who attend most, if not all, Community Council monthly meetings, and, on many occasions act as the Community Council\u2019s eyes and ears in the local community (and our conscience)\u00a0 keeping the Community Council on our toes in case we should ever think about resting on our laurels.<\/span><\/span><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"121\"><span style=\"color: #000000;
