The Auld Kirk – Anne Barclay
My work is a direct response to the atmosphere of a place. I work intuitively, choosing to represent the colour and impression rather than an identical image. I work primarily in oils, enjoying the fluidity of the medium which allows me to work into the paint and create the transient nature of my subject. As I live by the sea it was inevitable that I would be drawn to this subject as a main source of my paintings, particularly the skies and seas of the East Neuk and the west coast and islands of west of Scotland.
The Auld Kirk – Brett Watson
Brett studied at Edinburgh College of Art where he majored in Stained Glass and Painting. He is inspired by the landscape of Scotland and works mainly in watercolour and acrylic and is excited by strong colour and design, elements which always feature prominently in his work, and which he hopes will achieve an emotional connection with the viewer.
31 West End – Arthur Nuttall
Hi, I’m Arthur Nuttall and have lived in the East Neuk all my life the highlight of my hobby was my painting of the fishing drifter Reaper coming home being presented to Princess Anne.
31 West End – Carla Gina Heron
For as long as I can remember I have never been far away from a paint brush. Experimenting with colour excites me as shown in my life drawing and floral art work. I like to use a variety of mediums such as pastel, acrylic, brusho and watercolour. Alongside traditional brushes, I like to experiment with pallet knives, sticks, scrapers or anything that can be used for mark making.
31 West End – Lesley Clarke

5 West End – Dave Smith

The East Neuk offers a plethora of beautiful images for all artists. It’s rocky seashore flanked by pantiled cottages and fertile fields of the ‘fringe o’ gowd’ provide an endless source of inspiration.
17 West Shore – Lisa Farquhar
I grew up in St Monans, recently moving back ignited a spark in me to try painting again. I am at the beginning of my journey with painting and I feel very privileged to be included in the event. I paint what I know and love and with each attempt I like to experiment with colour and technique. This is a selection of acrylics of key sights in the area.

She was tutored by John Cunningham whose work is in the Scottish Colourist tradition and held in the Hunterian and Kelvingrove Art Galleries. Pauline is a contemporary still-life and landscape painter. Her still-life subject matter is often based on found things and landscape/seascape pieces are drawn from the East Neuk of Fife. She works in oils on linen and gesso panel. As a professional painter, she remains strongly influenced by her tuition at the G.S.A. drawing on the experience to produce pieces imbued with form, light and colour. She exhibits in several galleries throughout the UK and has shown in Hong Kong, New York and Singapore. Her work is held in private collections worldwide.
