| 3. | Common Good Land – Miller Terrace/Forth Street Local interested residents were invited to the meeting tonight to allow an open discussion to help determine the preferred way forward for the common good land at the corner of Miller Terrace and Forth Street. It was agreed that most people present wanted the area tidied up. A number of residents shared stories and provided information about the various parked vehicles/boats, and the general use of this site by locals, deliverymen, carers, workmen etc. over the years. The site is currently hardcore and grass and gets very muddy in wet weather with some concerns raised about drainage. Cllr Hayes suggested that the grass area could be sectioned off to prevent people parking on it and it was agreed that essential car parking spaces should be retained. It was also suggested that improved signage could be provided to direct visitors to the current carpark at the public toilets, and to the main coastal path. Eileen Montador advised that FCCT are currently improving signage in the area. There was a further query about how any improvements would be financed, and the basic details of Fife Council’s Common Good Fund funding process were explained to the meeting. It was agreed at the meeting that local residents would like this area improved and Cllr Hayes will now contact the Council in this regard. The Council will likely draw up suggested improvements, and all options should include parking spaces. Improvements should also include a grassed area and planting to enhance the site. Cllr Hayes did add that she had contacted the Council in March 2026 about improving this site but had not received a response. Marjory Ashworth thanked everyone for coming to the meeting to discuss this subject and advised that any progress will be communicated via the CC meeting, which is held on the third Monday of every month, and via the minutes which are posted on the St Monans and Abercrombie Community Council Facebook page. Residents can also contact the CC directly via email community@stmonans.org.uk | |
| 4. | Reports from Community Groups Floral Group – Katy Gall The group has been busy recently with establishing a rockery and planting beside the anchor at the Memorial garden. Winter plants have been planted in the planters in Braehead. Two additional helpers, John and Bob, have been helping to restore the boat at the top of the village, repairing the bench at the Welly Boot Garden and painting the shed. The hanging baskets will hopefully be removed next weekend. SMAKE – Peter Peddie Lottery Heritage fund is satisfied, and the group can now move to the development stage. They issued a Press release via The Courier to launch a crowd funder to raise match funding. The goal is £100,000. A video was made about the Kirk, and this has been shared on social media. Various events are planned for the coming months including a brass band and the East Neuk Knit festival. Donations to the crowdfunder can be made by visiting crowdfunder.co.uk/p/stmonansauldkirk Pool and Pans – Peter Peddie This group has held charity status now for just over a year. The AGM will be held on 20th November in the Masonic Hall to discuss the way forward. | |

It was suggested that we provide the police with our CC meeting timetable and if they are in the vicinity or available, they will drop in to the meeting. Cllr Hayes will provide the timetable. | |
