Play park funding update
The St Monans playpark committee has completed a series of successful meetings with Fife Council officials about the redevelopment of the playpark. Following a competitive tender process, a contractor has been identfied and as soon as we have sufficient funds, we will be able to start the work.
Members of Lodge St Monans 1348 Freemasons have made a £500 donation towards the park funds. We would like to extend our thanks once again to the Members of the Lodge for this very generous support.
Also, the team are extremely grateful to:
- Lacey & James Bjork who raised £152 from their tie dye T-shirts & facemasks;
- Jennifer Jones who has raised £240 from her hand-made soap; and
- Local businessman, David Robertson at Falkland Performance Centre, who recently donated £500.
After a successful application to the University of St. Andrews Common Good Fund we have also been awarded £1245 towards our funding. Our Avivia Crowdfunder has now closed, but raised over £5000! We will also be announcing a few, ‘covid secure’ fund raising events over the summer months to help us reach our goal.
Finally, we are keenly waiting for news of a significant grant award which will take us substantially towards our £180,000 target. Hopefully, we will know in the next week or two, so watch this space!
Lyall Stephen, Stuart Bridges and Helen Ironside met with Lodge 1348 Treasurer, David Brisland, at the park recently and were presented with a cheque for £500. Other members of the team include; Carol Copland; Donna Marr; Suzie Stephen; Gordon Torrie and Karen Bjork.
