Arts Festival
The St Monans Community Arts Festival is still several months away, but it can safely be assumed that in this Year of Covid, it will not be able to go ahead in its normal format.
That said, we are not going to cancel it. The show will go on, in some form. We don’t know what will be feasible by that time, but we are looking at what might still be possible, perhaps with social distancing and / or other preventative measures, and in particular, how much we can do online, including virtual exhibitions and performances over the weekend.
We’ll keep our options open as long as possible, but the good news is that we are sure some parts of the festival will be possible whatever. We can run the photography competition and the art and photography exhibitions and musical performances can be watched online if necessary.
So first up – there will be a Photography Competition this year. Many of you are already taking wonderful photos of the village on your daily walks. All you need to do is send us your three best shots. You have until the end of August to do that. We’ll post more details soon – and then reminders!
(And if you are not resident in the village, then hopefully it will become possible for you to visit us again later in the summer, but in the meantime, you now have a good excuse to look again at your past photos and to send us something that you took on a previous visit.)
And keep an eye on the website here and on our social media – we’ll be updating you on plans as we develop them over the summer.
